Tea stores traditionally sell dried laver, too. When readily cut dried laver were introduced into the market, the laver became available to be sold packed in a same style canister for tea. The proposal setting up the canister as a gift item was also made.
It was necessary to emphasize that the contents were dried laver because the canister style was same. So that the brush stroke characters for dried laver were arranged in large size and symbolic manner. By employing rectangular can exclusively for dried laver with unified graphics, it was expressed as a gift set.
Dried laver packed and sold in a canister is almost usual manner nowadays. Also the graphic design shown here has been still used for forty five years since it appeared in the market.
