Total Design for Tendoso (Japanese Style Hotel)
Tendoso

Category: Environment Date: 2007

Tendoso is a Japanese hot spring inn representing the North-Eastern Japan. In this project, a hot spring area atmosphere in Japan was studied, and blending the value of the atmosphere and today's environment was tried. The try was conducted with the total view ranging from a pamphlet design to the art direction of the interior furnishing. In the graphic design, decent quality and extraordinary experience at the established Japanese inn was expressed by using the Chinese character font based on Ming style font in Ming Dynasty and symbolic use of a seal in the same era. Tendo's rich climate hard to express in four seasons and the fine hospitality according to the climate were depicted in the design concept as "hospitality with twenty four seasons" that was traditional saying from old China for finely changed seasons.
For the signage of Tendoso garden, the image of the facilities was communicated by the texture of galvanized solid steel plate.
