このサインは、車両によって異なる乗車位置を表示するする為の装置です。ホームに対して直行して掲出される号車番号は、やや内側に傾けながら大きく表示することで遠距離視認に対応しています。またホームに対して平行して掲出される列車情報は、陳距離からの読みやすさに配慮して、やや下向きに傾けて設計しました。このように異なった2つの角度を持つ表示面を、「板」と「角柱」という基本的な形状に整理し、できるだけヴォリュームを抑えることで頭上に配置されるプロダクトとしての圧迫感を軽減しました。

This signage system is the device to inform passengers of the boarding position of a train that is located in a different position for various kinds of cars. The sign for the train number, posted in the right angle against a platform and slightly tilt toward the inner side of the platform, makes visual recognition easy in distance. Also train information posted parallel to the platform was designed with the face slightly tilted downward for legibility in distance. The design could reduce an oppressive impression as a product installed overhead by restraining its physical volume. These conditions were made available by organizing the signboard surface in two different angles into a "panel" and a "column with square cross section" as a primary form.
