GK Graphics, together with GK Sekkei and GK Shanghai, designed the signage system for the World Expo held in 2010 in Shanghai, China.
For clear navigation in the huge expo grounds (approximately 3,280,000 sq. meters,) 30-meter tall sign towers with names of squares were set up. Based on the theme of the Expo "Better City, Better Life," the signage design concept was the merging of city structures and nature. Incorporating the local landscape and climate, "water" was chosen as the design motif to express nature inside the city, and developed into applications including sign tower, navigation poles, etc.
