駅の顔としての改札口。
　利用者が集中する改札口周辺は、鉄道利用における最初の結界です。
　元来、改札口におけるサービスの大半は駅員によるものでしたが、自動化によってそれが損なわれてはなりません。スムースな動線の維持とJR東日本の空間における顔づくりをするために、我々は券売機・改札機・改札標等から成る購買動線機器のトータルデザインを行いました。
　乗車券の磁気化・ストアードフェアカード対応・ICカード化とその後も進化は続いています。

The wickets are the face of stations. Around the wicket where train passengers are concentrating is first boundary for taking trains.
The automated gate should not lose service quality to human service that used to be conducted mostly by station attendants. A design project was implemented for maintaining passengers' smooth traffic and creating the expression of JR East premises. The total design work of vending machine traffic consisting of ticket vender, wicket and others was conducted. The evolution of facilities has still been going on since then such as on magnetizing tickets, store-fare card, and IC card.
