EXPO'85のサインは、案内所・照明・ベンチ等と同じく、観客の快適性をサポートする基幹施設として統合され、これら基幹施設は科学技術博らしいイメージを金属の細い線に託して会場全体に造形秩序を与えようと計画されています。
　このサイン計画では、案内地図が重要な表示要素となっており、建物の裏面まであえて表現した立体地図や、ブロックサインカラーの全システムへの導入など、輻輳した会場情報を分かりやすく地図で表現しています。

The signage for EXPO'85 was planned as the primary facilities to support and comfort visitors same as directory station, lighting and bench alike. These primary facilities were planned to give formative order to whole exposition site, and to create image suits Science and Technology Exposition, by thin metal lines.
A directory map made important sign elements, and complicated site information was expressed in the map for easy understanding. The method was supported with 3-dimensional maps delineating even backside of buildings, employing the block sign color in whole system.
