1989年に開催された横浜博覧会Yokohama Exotic Showcase '89の工期中に、開催期間等を現地で告知するPRのためのサインです。
　工事区域の縁に建つこのサインは、JR線に正対し、電車の中からも良く見えるように大きさが設定されました。また、横浜博覧会会場計画の基本方針であるウォーターフロント・横浜らしさの表現にもとづいて、マストのようなテントをトラス構造の骨組みに展開しました。また、博覧会の夜の演出を事前に伝達する為の照明計画にも配慮しました。

A PR Billboard was designed for the exposition (Yokohama Exotic Showcase 89) held in 1989. The billboard was built to announce exposition period alike during the site had been under construction.
The sign was installed on the edge of the construction site, and the size of the board was determined for easier recognition from the train (JR Line) running nearby. Mast like tents was stretched on frames to express waterfront, Yokohama like atmosphere and night event. Also by lighting up the structure, the preliminary promotion of the exposition was planned.
